Notice is hereby given that the 23rd Annual General Meeting of the Society for the Promotion of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Research and Knowledge (SPARK) will be held on 25 May 2024 (Sat) at 3.00pm to 5.00pm at Caregiver Pod @ The Enabling Village  (20 Lengkok Bahru Singapore 159053).  Please note that this notice has been posted on the SPARK website (www.spark.org.sg/latestnews). 

PROPOSED AGENDA

1. Adoption of the 23nd AGM Minutes

2. Adoption of Annual Report for Year 2023

3. Adoption of Audited Financial Report for Year 2023

4. Election of the Executive Committee (Exco)  for Year 2024-2025 Term of Office

5. Election of the Independent Auditor for 2-years term covering FY 2024 & FY 2025

If you would like to stand for elections for the Exco/Independent Auditor or propose agenda items for the meeting, please send your nomination form or proposal for agenda item to info@spark.org.sg by 11 May 2024.

STUDY BUDDY - APRIL 2024

STUDY BUDDY IS BACK !

Do you struggle motivating your child to study ?

Is getting your child to do homework more traumatic than pulling out teeth ?

If so, don’t worry. Study Buddy is here !

At SPARK, we believe that the trick to make studying a little more fun and less of a chore is to “do it together”. Study Buddy is an online study group for ADHD tweens age from 10-14 years old. The sessions are led by teen mentors and are structured loosely along the Pomodoro technique to help the kids improve their ability to focus and get their work done. And as a reward, the sessions typically close off with some online games curated by the teen mentors. It is quite surprising to see how motivated the kids are to get their work done when they don’t have authority figures to fight with and when they are in the company of positive peers.

This round, we plan to offer 2 options (one on Tuesday afternoon from 4-5.30pm and the other on Saturday morning from 10-11.30am). You are free to sign your child up for both if you like.

Lego Serious Play - March 2024

To support the shift to a more collaborative parenting approach. we are happy to share that SPARK will be holding our second run of the Lego Serious Play program in March.

We have innovatively combined the “power of play” & “collaborative problem solving” to help both parent & child learn to collaborate more effectively to solve the many many problems that life throws at us.
