We are thrilled to invite you to our next Online Parent Support Group meeting on 8th May 2024, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM. This session promises to be both enlightening and inspiring, as we will have the incredible opportunity to hear from Shaun Sim, our past ACE Award winner.

Shaun will be sharing his personal journey and the strategies that have helped him improve his executive functioning skills. Learn firsthand about the life hacks he has discovered to overcome challenges associated with poor working memory and chronic procrastination. This is a fantastic chance to gain insights that could benefit not only you but also your children.

STUDY BUDDY - APRIL 2024

STUDY BUDDY IS BACK !

Do you struggle motivating your child to study ?

Is getting your child to do homework more traumatic than pulling out teeth ?

If so, don’t worry. Study Buddy is here !

At SPARK, we believe that the trick to make studying a little more fun and less of a chore is to “do it together”. Study Buddy is an online study group for ADHD tweens age from 10-14 years old. The sessions are led by teen mentors and are structured loosely along the Pomodoro technique to help the kids improve their ability to focus and get their work done. And as a reward, the sessions typically close off with some online games curated by the teen mentors. It is quite surprising to see how motivated the kids are to get their work done when they don’t have authority figures to fight with and when they are in the company of positive peers.

This round, we plan to offer 2 options (one on Tuesday afternoon from 4-5.30pm and the other on Saturday morning from 10-11.30am). You are free to sign your child up for both if you like.

Lego Serious Play - March 2024

To support the shift to a more collaborative parenting approach. we are happy to share that SPARK will be holding our second run of the Lego Serious Play program in March.

We have innovatively combined the “power of play” & “collaborative problem solving” to help both parent & child learn to collaborate more effectively to solve the many many problems that life throws at us.

SPARKLING SPORTS CAMP IN JUL 2023

The most important tool we can give our ADHD child is a love for sports and exercise. This not only pumps their brains with much needed "brain juice” that helps improve focus and regulation but it also helps them to build resilience and connection with positive peers. But sadly many times, our child’s first experience with sports is less than positive...

We are so excited that teen mentors from Hua Chong Institution who are themselves student-athletes will be organising our inaugural SPARKLING SPORTS CAMP in Jul. Their goal is to introduce our kids to sports and exercise in a fun and inclusive way.
