Dear SPARK Parents,
I have written such a letter (sample enclosed) to my son's School (Anglo Chinese Barker Road) as requested by them to
brief his teachers about my son's ADHD and what they can do to help. Teachers in many schools are not aware what ADHD is
all about and it is difficult to expect them to read books on it and find out what applies to the child. As parents we
know our child best and it is easier if we can summarise the child's ADHD condition and describe it concisely to the
teachers. Since I have done it, it thought it would be useful to you all - and here's is a draft you can use and modify
and give it to all your child's teachers (go through the Principal if the school is very supportive of children with
special needs, otherwise give directly to the teachers and explain that this is to help the teachers manage the child
better in the classroom and to improve his learning).
Hope this helps... yet another step in this long journey to help our special children.
