  Music  
  Background music may help the ADD child to pay better attention to what he/she is doing. Baroque music like Bach, Handel, Pachelbel & Vivaldi are good as the special beats and patterns sychronised with with the resting heart rate (about 60 beats per minute). Music occupies the right brain so that the left brain can focus on details.

  Organised: Teach Your Child How To Be Organised  
  ADD/ADHD children and adults needs organisational skills to overcome their problems (e.g. having fixed places for various items, file for pending homework and file for completed homework, etc.)

  Physical Exercises  
  Physical exercises helps produce some chemicals that helps in paying attention for about 2 hours. One ADD adult claims he got his PHD through sheer effort: three 1-hour exercises (3 hours of exercises) every day.Brain Gym exercises also helps to improve concentration (E&P Learning Centre conducts some classes for younger children on this, but do not focus much on Brain Gym exercises.)  
  What To Do:  
  Swimming, jogging are good exercises  
  Can also consider Tai-chi, martial art or other physical training if the child is interested  
  Wheel-barrow exercise (holding the child's knee/leg while he tries to walk with his hand while the body is horizontal) is also useful in improving your child's hand-writing.  
  Many ADD children grip their pencil too tightly. Improvement of the gross motor skills (also wheel-barrow exercise) is a starting point for improve fine motor skills (e.g. writing)

  Sleep: help your child get adequate sleep  
  Some children exhibit ADD/ADHD-like symptoms when they can't sleep well or get sufficient sleep.  
  What To Do:  
  Tone down all physical activities 30-60 minutes before sleep (e.g. read/tell a story)  
  Sleep early

  TV and Video Games  
  Excessive TV and video games may make the attention problem worse.
