Thank you very much, Ms Ho, for responding and clarifying.
Whilst MOE has adopted this to be in line with International Agencies, weare voicing concern that the proposed annotation symbols do not give clarityand interested parties have to obtain details from MOE, Singapore.
As mentioned, we as parents seeking exemption or special arrangement preferto have the exact exemption or special arrangement (in this case extra time)specifically stated together with the annotation, rather than a comment inthe explanatory statement to refer to MOE. This gives ambiquity and we feelprospective employers will rather not shortlist these people for jobs thango through the trouble to find out from MOE what exemptions and specialarrangements had been given to the candidate. We are not talking about theannotations discriminating those students with learning disabilities (thisis a fact and has to be accepted). Given that we accept the annotations, weare asking for the annotations to be explicitly explained, than ageneralised statement to refer to MOE. We feel this is better for thesestudents. Hope you understand our viewpoint.
Regards,
Bella Chin
