SPARK is an independent, voluntary and non-profit organisation.

It aims to:

  1. Create public awareness of Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder;

  2. Help children with ADD/ADHD and their parents and families cope with the disorder;

  3. Promote understanding and research on ADD/ADHD;

  4. Give support to ADD/ADHD adults

History:

In 1998, a parent of a child with ADHD who underwent tremendous personal pain and frustration, decided to help other parents in the same boat by setting up the ADHD Parent Support Group.

The success achieved by the Support Group in helping parents to understand and accept their children and themselves led to the realisation that much more has to be done to raise awareness of the issues among educators and the general public.

In response to this need, SPARK was formed by a number of parents from the Support Group to continue with, and expand on the scope of the work done previously by the Group.
